America Movil’s Brazilian mobile unit extends 4G footprint to Curitiba

Telecom Americas (Claro), the Brazilian unit of Mexico’s America Movil (AM), has extended its Long Term Evolution (LTE) footprint in the country, with the launch of services in the city of Curitiba in the south of Brazil. In addition to the new rollout announcement, Claro also confirmed plans to start selling the Samsung Tab Note 10.1 and Galaxy Note 2 in March this year. It is currently supporting 4G services via a number of devices, including the Motorola RAZR HD, Samsung Galaxy SIII 4G and the Huawei E392 modem. Claro’s LTE network is available in the 2.5GMHz band and services are live in Recife and Campos do Jordao, in Sao Paulo state, and Paraty and Buzios in Rio de Janeiro under the 4GMax banner.
